LI Heat Exposure Event recap
17U Elite opened up pool play with a lopsided win, only to face a LI Rough Ryderz team featuring a frontline of four guys 6’6 or taller. 17U earned their toughest win in what proved to be the championship game as Sun featured two marginal victories in front numerous college coaches to cap off a 4-0 weekend!
2016 prospects Tylik Furman, Josh Lamison (Bridgehampton HS); Brandon Kenndey-Gay (East Hampton HS) and Tristan Wissemann all picked up new college interest over the weekend from schools such as Adelphi, LIU Post, St Joe’s College, SUNY Oswego and Suffolk CC.

ZG NYS Championships recap
ALL TOURNEY: Jalen Ryan (Longwood ’18), Troy Goode (Riverhead ’18)
15U team won all pool games by 34 pt avg margin of victory. Facing DI team EC Panthers, 15U lost in Final Four semi game 55-45; game was closer than score indicated. EC Panthers went on to defeat Hoop Strong Warriors, defending DII national champ, who beat Albany City Rocks in other semi final game. This marked only the second loss of season for 15U Elite, the other to DI Boston Spartans, who also were eventual champ of Hall of Fame NE Championships NCAA certified “live period” event. Great showing by our 15U team against top-notch competition!
13U Elite went 1-2 in pool play; dropping two tough pool games to two DI teams and beating a good Crown Lightning team 45-41, highlighted by a 28 point career-high performance from Henry Brooks (Pierson ’20). This first year group showed tremendous heart, determination and resiliency as an undersized matchup in pool play.
After going 3-0 in the Lightning Invitationl tourney & earning spot in championship game (postponed, to be played in near future), month-old 11U team suffered a winless weekend playing toughest pool in their bracket. They did give eventual champ, Lightning-Wagner their closest game. Great job of competing by the young studs!
